So here it is. I teased about this a few posts ago if you’ve been following, and now it is finally here. A song that summarizes the beginning of the novel Frankenstein. This song was able to come together with the help of Christophe Caron, who spent some time into finding the sampled voice in the introduction, and looping the beat. Once the beat was finished, I was able to start composing and polishing the lyrics. Eventually I got around to recording, which took a few hours. Once that was finished, I was able to transfer the file back to Christophe. Ultimately taking a few days on and off to finish, Christophe was able to mix my recording with the track and finally mastered it, so that it could sound as professional as possible. This is one of the first time we attempted this, and even though it may not seem like much, there was A LOT of time and effort put into this final post.

Below you will find a link, and the lyrics. The lyrics are not written formally and therefore do not really follow grammar rules. Yes, they even include words like “kinda” which obviously is not a real word. However, I left it this way since it is the way I have pronounced the words, therefore I decided to leave them that way for you guys!

Hope you enjoy listening as much as we had fun making this!

Lyrics:

I woke up in the morning, I was on the sea

boat full of people, ice was under me

too smart to even talk to the mates on board

but we set sail for the north and there was ice galore

soon after we got a glimpse of a

reluctant man who did not want to climb aboard

“We’re headed north” was all he needed to hear and a

he climbed aboard ‘cuz we weren’t going to antartica

woah, man take a breath and exhaleeat something stranger, you look boney and frail

“you stranded for a while?” damn your skin is so pale

48 hours went by until he could tell his tale

Lets Go

Victor was a young little dude

his parents loved him much as they’d provide food

and soon after, a companion came along

Elizabeth was adopted and now I’m singing this song

back to the story no gimmicks,

Victor liked science but he didn’t like physics

he fell upon alchemy which triggered his instinct

his brain was wired up, he wanted to make a killing

Out of the sky he saw lightning strike

made him think of electricity,

not robotics or circuitry

Enrolled in school, he attended a university

got down to it, days were filled with productivity

he pedaled and settled, he set the pedal to the metal

yet little did he know that he was just on the brink of

making a discovery related to electricity and conductivity

and his mind was never quite blank, it was filled with creativity

He became quite stubborn, thus had no time for bigotry

It could be seen by his eagerness; the hope which his eyes expressed

“I doubted at first…

should I create another man like my-self?

Can I even deal with the cards I’m dealt?”

Vic Connected the optic nerve to the occipital lobe

and then is came together and he got eyesight back

came up out of a moment, Vic is wise like that

All of a sudden, his creation struck

lo and behold, it was alive as fu-!

[Speaking part]

sweating and stressing, like Michelle’s Husband

“I’ll never get to sleep… at least… not if this monster doesn’t”

So I…

set up outside just for time to go by

feeling distraught, you could see in his eye

a couple of steps and he met an old friend

“good gracious Victor, it’s good to see you again”

they went walking around, Vic knew something was wrong

When he got back to his place, his creation was gone

Reality settled in

and Vic was losing his mind

thankfully Henry was there

and stayed till he was fine

But it,

kinda made him freak out when he heard that Willy was dead

and he,

set out to visit his family in Geneva instead
 now

Vic had a lot of things that he could worry about

one being the monster, for whom he could not account

and second for his encounter on the trip to his house

realized who killed Will, for sure, without a doubt

young little Justine was trialed instead

Vic shut his mouth to keep his credibility

which later ended up in poor Justine’s liability

case was close and she was sentenced to death,

a few did oppose but they were wasting their breath

and if you..

wanna know more about the story then you

should probably read the book now that you’re in the hook

just wake up with your coffee in the morning n like… read it. It’s not hard.

Morning always brings a sense of possibility.

  1. Wow, what a cool way to present a summary! I’m impressed by all the work behind your post and the song itself! It is very original, funny and it describes really well the story. I liked the fact that you suggested to your audience to read the book when you said:

” […] wanna know more about the story then you/ should probably read the book now that you’re in the hook ”

Rhymes are catchy and the beat is good, so I believe it will definitely encourage people to read the book!
